Sheriff asks for help to ID San Lorenzo Valley burglars

(KRON) -- A string of burglaries hit the heart of the San Lorenzo Valley last weekend in north Santa Cruz County.

Four burglaries unfolded in Boulder Creek and Ben Lomond targeting local family-owned businesses along Highway 9, including Scarborough Lumber. The suspects were recorded on surveillance cameras as they attempted to carry away a safe full of cash.

Tens-of-thousands of dollars worth of merchandise was stolen from the businesses, Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office spokesperson Ashley Keehn said.

Keehn said investigators are asking for the public's help to identify the burglars. The suspects used a black Chevy suburban, which was found by deputies on Tuesday.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office released these surveillance images.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the sheriff's office at 831-471-1121.
