The Cleveland Cavaliers face an issue of basketball fundamentals. The Cavs will not win critical playoff games until they fix the same fundamental problems that hurt them last season: poor free-throw shooting; and allowing too many second-chance opportunities.
In their recent loss to Oklahoma City, Cleveland made only 14 free throws and shot 58% from the line, while the Thunder made 21 free throws at 91%. Both teams attempted roughly the same number of free throws, but Oklahoma City capitalized while Cleveland did not.
